Hypnotherapy can be used for a variety of conditions and situations:
Stress and Anxiety, Phobias, Pain Management, Eczema, Sleep and Habits including Nail Biting, Eating and Smoking. It can also help with Self-Esteem and Confidence especially in preparing for examinations. A treatment plan tailored to the individual is the most effective approach.
Hypnotherapy is a Complimentary Therapy. It is not a diagnostic technique and is never a substitue for consulting your GP regarding a health issue

Everything you have ever learnt is stored in your subconscious. It is possible to introduce different ideas into your subconscious using Hypnotherapy.
The hypnotic state is a natural 'trance' state which you slip into for instance when you are absorbed in a good book, film or when your awareness has wandered when driving, for instance, and you have no recollection of several miles of your journey. Your awareness of reality becomes less well-defined, blurring into the inner world of thoughts, feelings, memories and imagination. You become more passive but will not do anything out of character or against your will. It is not like a theatrical performance.
The trance state varies from being relaxed to being virtually asleep, but hypnosis is not sleeping. The brainwaves slow down during hypnosis and day dreaming is the first level of being in a trance. Once relaxed into a trance state you can become receptive to hypnotic suggestions which influence the changes that you choose to make. It is usually a pleasant experience from which you return feeling relaxed and restored.
The process of hypnotherapy is a shared one. Together we can work towards the changes that you want to make for yourself.
